Working outside of the frenzy
Donald Trump and his cronies stir the frenzy continuously. They want to be on the front page every day, and fire up one emotional controversy after another to keep their names at the forefront of the American and world psyche. How do they do this?
First, they know that we're all fairly primitive with our thoughts and desires. They understand how to inflame our emotions with sound bites, slick marketing, lies, and exaggeration. They love to get us going.
Next, they love to mock us. They take the words we use and turn them around to serve their aim. This is a sport for them.
And, they want to take us away from the deep, good work that helps us to be smarter, more strategic, and deeper with regard to getting what we desire--the good humane policies and laws that will take us forward as a country for all. If we're in the frenzy we'll get lost in a circular activity that leads to nowhere like a dog chasing its tail.
So what can we do instead.
First, see the Trump marketing for what it is, a strategy to distract Americans from what really matters and direct their attention towards divisive, emotional issues that leave him with the power and money.
Next, create a schedule of positive activity that moves away from the distracting, exaggerated, emotional direction Trump and his cronies desire for us. Read, study, analyze and work for better, not for those who will to trick and manipulate.
We can do better. We must not be tricked or fooled away from our humanity, good abilities, and vision for a better world. We need to avoid the frenzy in our efforts to do what is right and good.
